About Me:
I am currently a student at Illinois State University getting my degree in Elementary Education. I love teaching and I cannot wait to start my career as a teacher in the future! Parent involvement:
We always encourage parent involvement! On this website there are questions on the bottom of each page. As a parent you can go over these questions with your child to make sure they are comprehending the information provided. Look on the Classroom Activities page for a fun snack to back with your child!
We are still looking for parent volunteers for our Eastern Europe Culture night on May 11th, 2011! If any parents have cultural information they would like to share or any questions please e-mail at Camenne@ilstu.edu
Classroom Experience:
I did my three week clinical experience at Stevenson Elementary in Bloomington Illinois which is apart of district 87. I worked with Amanda White and her 3rd grade class. In this classroom I taught multiple lessons on Reading, Math, Social studies, Science,Writing, and Health. I gained a lot of knowledge and experience in those three weeks and I am excited to apply it to student teaching and my future job.
In Fall 2011 I will be student teaching at Fairview Elementary in Hoffman Estates, With Mrs. Lewis. I will be teaching 6th grade and I am really looking forward to it!
Teaching Statement:
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn- Benjamin Franklin. I believe this quote shows how important it is as a teacher to get my students as involved with learning as possible. The more a student interacts, questions, and connects the more a student will learn. All students learn differently and at a different pace and it is important to notice that and adjust my lesson plans to the students' needs.
Contact Information:
Feel free to contact me through E-mail any time. I check and respond to my E-mail daily, so I should get back to you within a 24 hours period. Camenne@ilstu.edu
